It\u2019s a certain perspective that\u2019s developed based on a person\u2019s experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These experiences \u2013 whether they\u2019re from a person\u2019s childhood or a leadership course they took last year \u2013 help shape a way of thinking that can enable us to become better leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"achieving-a-leadership-mindset\">Achieving a Leadership Mindset<\/h4>\n\n\n<p>Contrary to what many people may think, Joe Britto suggests that becoming a better leader is&nbsp;<strong>not actually about you<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He encourages managers to look outside of themselves and shift their perspective from \u201cWhat can I do better?\u201d to \u201cHow can I help my team succeed?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe measure of our success as a leader is less about how many people follow me, or how many people I can get to do the things that I want them to do,\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;<strong>explains Joe,<\/strong>&nbsp;<em>\u201cand more about how many leaders am I creating.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve a leadership mindset, Joe recommends:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Viewing success as a direct result of your team\u2019s efforts<\/li><li>Investing time in understanding people and helping them grow<\/li><li>Encouraging your team to bring big ideas forward<\/li><li>Giving people the chance to run with those big ideas<\/li><li>Providing a positive experience for your team<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-sets-a-great-leader-apart-from-a-bad-one\">What Sets a Great Leader Apart from a Bad One?<\/h4>\n\n\n<p>The biggest difference between a good leader and poor one, according to Joe, is flexibility of mind. He describes this as people\u2019s ability to change course on a project or task in order to accommodate a bigger, better idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joe believes that the greatest mistake someone in a leadership role can make is not using their team\u2019s brainpower.
