Every stat out there shows the benefit of having a strong, engaged team.&#8221;<br \/><br \/><\/span><strong><cite style=\"background-color: transparent\"><cite style=\"background-color: transparent\">\u2014 Murray Seward, President of Outback Team Building &amp; Training<\/cite><\/cite><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-top-2018-team-building-trends\"><br>The Top 2018 Team Building Trends<\/h4>\n\n\n<p>Here are our predictions for the top three team building trends for 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"trend-1-the-rise-of-indoor-team-building\"><br>TREND 1: The Rise of Indoor Team Building<\/h5>\n\n\n<p> Back in 2012, about 75% of companies were participating in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outbackteambuilding.com\/\/team-building\/outdoor\/\">outdoor team building<\/a>, and only around 25% were interested in activities that were run inside.&nbsp;In 2017, we saw almost an exact 50\/50 split of customers purchasing indoor versus outdoor team building activities. For <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outbackteambuilding.com\/\/team-building\/indoor\/\">indoor activities<\/a>, this is a 50% increase in popularity compared to just five years ago. &nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"why-is-indoor-team-building-trending\">Why Is Indoor Team Building Trending?<\/h5>\n\n\n<p> More corporate groups are realizing that you don\u2019t have to go outside to have a fun, exciting, and memorable team building experience. Plus, a lot of customers are looking for a more convenient, cost-effective way to run an activity during their conferences, retreats, or day-long meetings. &nbsp; Activities like&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.outbackteambuilding.com\/\/team-building\/minute-to-win-it\/\">Minute to Win It<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.outbackteambuilding.com\/\/team-building\/team-pursuit\/\">Team Pursuit<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.outbackteambuilding.com\/\/team-building\/charity-bike-buildathon\/\">Charity Bike Buildathon<\/a>&nbsp;are all indoor options that are engaging, entertaining, and can be run right in your meeting space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cCharity Bike Buildathon was a great, new way to do team building. Many of my employees were surprised by how much they enjoyed it!&#8221;<\/p><cite><strong>\u2014 Ancestry.com<\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"trend-2-who-wants-to-be-on-a-reality-tv-show-you-do\"><br>TREND 2: Who Wants to Be on a Reality TV Show? You Do!<\/h5>\n\n\n<p>Since 2012, our team has seen the interest in reality-TV-inspired activities almost double. Sales of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.outbackteambuilding.com\/\/team-building\/corporate-castaways\/\">Corporate Castaways<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.outbackteambuilding.com\/\/team-building\/amazing-chase\/\">The Amazing Chase<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 inspired by Survivor, and The Amazing Race, respectively \u2013 have grown by about 40%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to this increase in popularity, our team revamped Corporate Castaways in 2017. The improvements made to the event lead to a 47% jump in sales for this activity from 2016 to 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"why-is-reality-team-building-trending\">Why Is Reality Team Building Trending?<\/h5>\n\n\n<p>These activities are modeled after shows that are made for entertainment \u2013 so, of course they\u2019re exciting to participate in! Also, if you\u2019re a long-time fan of a reality series, taking part in one of these activities can seem like your shot at being a participant on your favorite show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the craze of actual reality TV may have died down, many of our customers love that these activities are unique, and offer a team building experience that\u2019s a little bit different. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cThe event was different from activities we\u2019ve done before. I felt like I was on a reality show! It\u2019s a great way to do team building.&#8221;<\/p><cite><strong>\u2014 Woodland Acres&nbsp; <\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"trend-3-teams-working-on-collaboration-skills\"><br>TREND 3: Teams Working on Collaboration Skills<\/h5>\n\n\n<p>From 2016 to 2017, interest in collaborative-only team building activities more than quadrupled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since introducing&nbsp;<a href=\"\/team-building\/corporate-escape-rooms\">Escape Room: Jewel Heist<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.outbackteambuilding.com\/\/team-building\/domino-effect-challenge\/\">Domino Effect<\/a>&nbsp;last year, the number of customers purchasing these types of events increased by a whopping 400%.<\/p>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"why-is-solely-collaborative-team-building-trending\">Why Is Solely Collaborative Team Building Trending?<\/h5>\n\n\n<p>While there are plenty of positive things to say about a little friendly competition \u2013 engagement, team camaraderie, and excitement, to name a few \u2013 sometimes groups enjoy bonding over having one shared goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Activities, such as Escape Room: Jewel Heist, offer groups an opportunity to work towards a single objective as a team, and make use of colleagues\u2019 different strengths. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cEscape Room: Jewel Heist was such a fun event.
